The Birth of Atum — First God of Creation

↗ Watch on Social

Before the stars ignited there was nothing but Nun — the boundless primordial ocean. And yet within that void, something stirred. A god who willed himself into existence from sheer divine thought.

Atum — The Complete One

Atum was the first deity — the origin of all things. His very name means "The Complete One."

"I am Atum when I was alone in Nun; I am Ra in his first appearances." — The Coffin Texts

The First Act of Creation

Atum rose from the primordial waters atop the benben stone. From himself, Atum created Shu (air) and Tefnut (moisture). From them came Geb and Nut. And from them came Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys.
