Few symbols carried as much mythological weight as the Eye of Ra — a being unto itself, an extension of the sun god's divine will.
What is the Eye of Ra?
The Eye could take the form of Hathor, Sekhmet, Bastet, or Mut — each embodying different aspects of the Eye's duality.
"I am the Eye of Ra, who does not let night overtake the day."
Sekhmet's Fury
Ra sent the Eye as Sekhmet to punish humanity. She became intoxicated with bloodlust. Only beer dyed red could trick her into sleep, ending the rampage. Destruction transformed into abundance.
